    Isn't there a problem with restoring from a backup when you change firmware version? Or was that only if you changed product code?

    @colinmercer If the messages are on the mass memory they are safe. But a simple PC suite backup will do no harm.

    The problem with restoration only comes when you try to restore applications. My advice is, once you reflash the phone only restore things like contacts, messages, bookmarks, calender and notes. Specifically do not select any other option in the pc suite menu.
